This 12V load tester is designed to test battery condition and charging system performance. It supports voltage testing from 0–16VDC and can be used for 12V lead-acid batteries and 12V charging systems (alternators and regulators). The tester suits batteries rated up to 1000CCA (160Ah) and uses an adjustable carbon pile load from 0 to 500 amps. During a battery load test, open circuit voltage is checked first, with the state-of-charge scale indicating whether the battery has sufficient charge to test (above 12.5V). Load current is then set using the load control knob, based on the battery’s CCA or Ah rating. A buzzer sounds after 15 seconds to indicate the correct test time, and the load must not be applied for more than 20 seconds. A 2-minute cool-down time is recommended between tests.
